Supports for Students and Families

There are no words to explain or provide context for the unthinkable tragedy that has occurred in our province.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the families, friends, communities and first responders who have been impacted.

The coming days and weeks will be difficult, but no one needs to feel alone. There are supports within each school and externally to help students and their families.

Guidance counsellors, school social workers and psychologists, and SchoolsPlus staff are just some of the supports available. You can find contact information on the staff directory of each school's website.

The Kids Help Phone is available 24/7 at 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868.

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, the Provincial Mental Health Crisis Line is also available 24/7. Call (toll-free) 1-888-429-8167.
